Often, we need to make small 6 mm holes in drywall ceilings - for this, we use a small drill/screwdriver. Working with a vacuum cleaner hose for dust extraction on the ~2.6 m high ceiling is quite cumbersome, so we came up with another solution to prevent the plaster from falling everywhere during drilling:
At first glance, it seems like you just need to cut off the top of a PET bottle, drill a hole in the cap, and slide it onto the drill bit to create a dust-catching funnel. However, the problem with this is that the factory cap does not hold the top of the bottle, which functions as a dust catcher, concentrically with the drill bit. So, we designed and 3D printed a PET bottle cap with a longer, 6 mm diameter hole that holds it securely.
