Upgrading an old distribution box

Today, we updated an old distribution box to meet modern standards.

In the new box, we connected the aluminum main conductors to brass terminal blocks, allowing us to use copper wires on the other side. Additionally, we installed a Type A residual current device (RCD).

The Type A RCD can detect pulsating DC residual currents (half-wave rectified sinusoidal currents) and operates reliably even in the presence of up to 6mA DC components. With the widespread use of switch-mode power supplies, it is essential to use at least a Type A RCD.

We used Schrack AMPARO residual current devices and circuit breakers – we highly recommend them for their robustness and reliability.
