Phoenix Contact terminal blocks

We typically wire our distribution panels in a star topology, generally using 1.5-2.5 mm² cross-section, 3-core cables. It has been a common practice in such cases to connect the neutral and protective earth conductors from these cables at a single point in the distribution panels. We do not prefer this method, as it makes the installation less transparent and less aesthetically pleasing.

Instead, we use the Phoenix Contact PTI 2.5-PE/L/NT 3213946 terminal blocks:

The PTI 2.5 terminal blocks occupy only 5.2 mm on the DIN rail, and within this 5.2 mm, all three cores can be connected. This is achieved by using the DIN rail for protective earth bonding for each terminal block, and optionally, a copper strip can be used to bond the neutral conductors connected to the terminal blocks. The neutral of the incoming cables can then be connected individually to the common neutral as needed.

The result is a much tidier wire management: PhoenixContact_PTI
