Perhaps electricians use the widest variety of spirit levels. In our work, we typically use four different sizes — let us tell you a bit about them.
STABILA 70 Electric - 1200 mm
The 1200 mm spirit level is particularly useful when marking longer horizontal or vertical lines. The STABILA model is a simple, precise, yellow metal tool. The manufacturer has fitted small rubber caps on its ends, which not only slightly elevate the spirit level from the wall but also provide a non-slip grip when leaning against the surface.
Our only issue with it lies in the predefined oversized holes. These are designed according to the standard 71 mm spacing for fixture boxes but are inexplicably too large to be used for marking.
WIHA Electrical's spirit level - 400 mm
This spirit level is ideal for marking the holes for fixture boxes as well as transferring the screw positions for tools that don't come with a printed drilling template. This Wiha tool is manufactured by the Austrian company Sola – next time, we would consider purchasing the tool directly from them.
Sola PT 5 20 - 200 mm
For a tool that we keep in our pocket at all times for ad hoc leveling, we have chosen the Sola product. It is lightweight, made of plastic, doesn't leave marks on the wall, and is always conveniently with us in our pocket.

Sola R 100
With dimensions of 100x50x10 mm, it's the ideal pocket size. Made from a single acrylic block, it functions as both a spirit level and a mini ruler. We've been considering it for a while, but the sharp corners have deterred us from trying it so far.
Sola GO! Magnetic
This magnetic, super cute spirit level can be worn on a belt. Its ABS casing ensures it doesn’t mark freshly painted walls, unlike competing metal versions, and a strong magnet helps keep it attached to fixtures during leveling.
We will eventually replace our STABILA Pocket Electric with these.
